Tina, eat the FOOD!

Napoleon Dynamite quote anyone?? No..okay...now I feel silly....anyways...

I am looking for food suggestions for my girl! Meal time has become somewhat of a struggle and she is spitting a lot of the new foods out! I know this is just part of the process as they are all new tastes and textures. However, I would be lying if I said I wasn't going CRAZY over her weight gain or lack thereof. After our visit to the doctor's last week, where we found out she was not gaining enough, I am now really worried!! I just want her to eat :( At this point, I am fine giving her the stuff she loves over and over, just so she eats! That would be pasta and eggs. I think she is starting to love grapes now as well. I find myself preparing too much for her to eat..just to have choices to give her in case she won't eat anything. She does like green veggies too. Tried avocado but she wasn't a fan really. And she was eating green table food veggies, but eats more if I give her the puree. I even tried soy nut butter on some bread. Wasn't too crazy about it. So if any of you have faces these issues and have any tips, I am all ears!!! This week we are on her trial run mixing formula with whole milk and next week starts all whole milk if there are no reactions. The doc said we could try pedia sure next week too. Which I think we are going to do to help her pack on some pounds! Although, I am afraid she won't eat that either! Help!

i remember the boys eating the same thing over and over. i cant believe they still eat the same things till this day. have you tried the toddler trays or the pick ups (bowls with little pastas) for her to feed her self with her fingers? I was avoiding the packaged foods for kids (in the baby aisle) for the longest time and finally gave in and the boys LOVED them!!! MJ especially!! kinda hard thinking of different options to share with you considering a lot are dairy based. I hope someone else can chime in and give you more help. Did you ever see if they have soy version of the pediasure?

I am going to be watching the responses to this because we are in the same boat with trying new things. One thing that A LOVES are pankakes. You can probably even pack some extra calories in there by sneaking in some added ingredients like melted peanut butter (soy).

Lets get together soon!

My friend's son is tiny so her ped said to butter everything-real butter, not margarine.

Also whole milk yogurts are delicious and high cal/fat!

I meant to say that A also loves her some bread. We tear the middle out of bagels and she goes to town.

I swear this is my last comment. Have you tried telling her to "Make Herself A Dang Quesadilla". I am now in the same embarrasing Napoleon Dynamite quote boat with you. :)

Keep trying on the avocado! That's a good fat for her to have. Let her hold it herself and a banana too! We love toast and PB, pears, cottage cheese, cheese, pasta, meat (ground beef, chicken, steak, pork in strips that he chomps on), yogurt, frozen berries, does that help at all?? Maybe it's just a phase. Keep trying and offering different foods. She will come around I'm sure! :)

Logan does the same thing with his food, he just doesn't like the textures, always eat pureed apples. I don't know what to do either, so I am not much help. I was going to try to put purred apples on food this weekend but I am pretty sure he just hates the texture. Keep us posted on your tips & tricks that work!
