Numbness and Tingling

So, I think I remember some of you posting about your fingers started to get numb or carpel tunnel while pregnant? I've noticed over the last few days my fingers get a little numb and tingly, mostly in the morning. And I'm pretty sure I'm not sleeping on my hands all night or anything to give me this "asleep" feeling in my hands. Please tell me this is normal????!!!

The numbness/tingling sensation in your hands is carpal tunnel, which is being caused by fluid retention. I experienced the exact same thing and it sucked. The good news is that it will all go away after giving birth. I used to hold ice packs to get relief, and I also tried to sleep with my hands elevated.

Yeah, I had it too. My hands would constantly fall asleep while I slept no matter what position they were in. You can where those wrist things that keep your hands in the correct position for blood flow, but it's a pain.

It's normal, unfortunately. It's more about the angle your wrist is at when you're sleeping - not that you're actually sleeping ON it. Buying wrist braces at Walgreens is what helped me a lot.

I had it with Jimmy. Nothing made it better. Just not being pregnant anymore.

Sounds like it is carpal tunnel to me?? I keep getting numbness and tingling around my ribcage, right under my bra and the OB said it is from the pressure of my uterus pushing on nerves. All sorts of fun, tingly stuff going on! LOL!

I have read that carpal tunnel is very common during pregnancy. Hopefully it will go away after delivery.

I was waking up multiple times a night with this until I asked my doc, she showed me how I was probably sleeping, with my hand curled in and tucked under my chin. She was TOTALLY right, now I make a concious choice not to sleep like this at night and only have the problem when I find myself sleeping all curled up and cozy like that! Hope that helps!!

Yup, trust me... I've handled many a workers comp claim for carpal tunnel in pregnant women and 9 times outta 10 it goes away when they give birth.... Carpal Tunnel is a very common pregnancy ailment! Hang in there sista... Less than 2 months (hopefully!) to go now!!!

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome during pregnancy is quite common. I have it without being pregnant so mine is rather permanent. Ask your doctor about getting a wrist brace as it might help you.

Wow, I remember that last month as really hard...
Soon it will be a sleep deprived so a little numbness now, may just be good, as much less sleep will be hard, but when the baby sleeps during the day, do not, clean the house or cook, sleep as you will be up a lot at night..

good luck dear...
