Feeling lousy...

It's the day after my surgery and I'm feeling so lousy. Silly me thought I was going to get out of the "got hit by a truck feeling" but I was wrong. When I woke up from surgery I didn't have any pain at all. Just felt tired and loopy. But then last night and into day the pain has arrived. I have a lot of pain through my shoulders and arms from all the air they pumped into me. And my stomach is a bit achey too. My husband is taking great care of me though! I haven't been able to leave the couch much. I'm alternating motrin and Tylenol with Codine. And gas x too! They said it would help with the arm and neck pain. It was great to be able to shower today, but I still can't get off the IV bandage sticky stuff and the orange iodine that all over my stomach and legs!! I'm trying not to look at the incisions because it creeps me out! I'm just thankful I have time off to rest, because I can't imagine chasing after two year olds this week! A nurse called today to check up on me and to make my follow up appt with my dr for next tuesday.

When you look at my blog can you see the black and white pattern and tiffany blue ribbon? I can't see it. And I might want to change my background. So I thought I would ask you all if you can see or if it's just my computer?

I know it's jumping ahead but guess what I started designing online today? My retrieval and transfer socks :) I'm not going to order them yet, but it was just fun designing the perfect socks! Who knows...maybe we will be blessed with a "natural pregnancy after a lap" baby!!! And I won't need those socks. But it's still exciting to think we are one step closer!

Gotta go...pill and ice cream time :)

Hope you get to feeling better soon hon. Ice cream always does the trick for me :)

When I am on your blog, I am just seeing a purple solid background. Are you trying to change it from that?

I see the BW and blue ribbon.

Give yourself another 3-5 days of rest and relaxation. It is normal to be sore, but do get up and walk. With the Tylenol and Codeine...drink water bc you can get constipated!!

Where are you designing your socks?

I felt like crap right after my Lap, mostly very tired. The 3rd and 4th day after I felt markedly better, I am hoping that the same is true for you and that you begin to feel better soon.
I totally see your background, it is adorable :)

Best of best of best of luck to you and your husband. That CO2 they pump into you is a killer -- makes you feel like at might be a heart attack.

Yeah, that trapped gas hurts. I had it after my lap. It'll go away soon, hang in there!

I see the black and white and the blue ribbon...

I was working in a daycare at the time of my lap. I was given extra time off work because of all the bending involved with working around small kids...

The shoulder pain was the absolute worst part for me...i found a heating pad helped a lot...or in a pinch a sock filled with rice and heated in the microwave.

The hospital gave me a special wipe to remove the bandage gunk...don't know if you can buy it at a pharmacy...otherwise it takes forever to come off. Haha...the orange iodine confused me at first (I was still loopy from the drugs) I thought I had somehow got more tanned!!!
I'm glad they were able to find and removve the endo and to check your tubes again...fingers crossed that you have success after lap :)

p.s. I don't see the background

I can see the back ground and have not ever had a problem viewing it on your blog.

Don't try to scrub that tape residue off. I tried. I don't know why hospitals use such heinous tape. I thought it was just my sensitive skin (I don't let them put any tape or band-aid on my after a blood draw.)Just let the stickiness wear off naturally. Mine to a few weeks. :(

Rest up and take it easy! Your body will thank you.

Hope you start feeling better soon! The orange iodine stuff takes awhile to come off completely, it will though you won't be orange forever :) I can't see the design in your blog...I think our computers have the same weird blogger issues sometimes!

Hey Sarah! I missed you :) So sorry to hear the recovery isn't going as smoothly as planned...I hope things settle down quickly for you, and you can get back to feeling like yourself. I've been thinking of you!

Where are you designing your socks? Or do you just make them yourself? Such a fun idea!
