I feel like I should be studied.
Today we were back in my doctor's office. I had a horrible afternoon/evening last night and we were both just so confused as to why I am not feeling a great deal better. My doctor was equally confused and a slightly bit worried as to why all the meds so far haven't done their job. So, I am now on a new antibiotic 4 times a day and another week of the prednisone. Not happy about it but I just want to get better. I am constantly thinking about how this might be effecting the baby especially with all the other "possible issues" going on. But I am just praying she is blissfully unaware of anything bad that's going on. I'm not gonna lie, it does cross my mind a few times a day that she will be born with like 3 eyes and 7 belly buttons and purple hair because of all the meds. Even if that was the case we'd love her up, but I have a very vivid imagination. I just feel like baby and I are like some sort of science experiment right now...
My doctor also wants me to see a pulmonary specialist this week, so that's on Thursday. This Wednesday was supposed to be my one hour glucose test but that has to be rescheduled. When I called the OB to get the ok for the new antibiotic, we discussed how the prednisone can increase blood sugar levels. So the OB decided we could push the test back. So I'm hoping I can just do the glucose test when I get my rhogam shot on the 10th.
I also called the specialist's office to switch doctors. A good friend of mine who is a nurse gave me some insight on the doctor we saw last week for the growth scan. Basically she said she is HORRIBLE and to switch doctors immediately. She said she knows a lot of people who have had issues with her and honestly she kind of rubbed us the wrong way too. So I called to try and get in to see the other doctor who she said is AMAZING (and yes my friend typed "horrible" and "amazing" in caps) :) So we are all set with the new doctor after my mama bear instincts came out and at first the receptionist said it wasn't really possible. And I calmly replied " well that's not acceptable." And so now we are scheduled with the good doctor. But she did say to remind the receptionist when we get there that we requested to see the other doctor. So that sounds a little weird. But all I know is they are going to have one not very happy mama to be in their office if we somehow end up with the doctor we don't want...
I am hoping I wake up tomorrow feeling like a new woman. These new meds HAVE to work! What's weird is that before I had one or two days where I WAS feeling better and then BAM! Back to feeling like crap again.
Can you believe it's going to be February soon????? Getting so excited for the baby shower this weekend. I just hope I am well! Nothing like a good two weeks of steroids to make my face extra puffy for my baby shower. Oh well. I don't care. I am pregnant. I am having a BABY SHOWER. And I am so blessed and thankful for this little baby and all love and support we have received....

So sorry you still aren't feeling well. I hope this new medicine helps. I can't be fun to be on antibiotics all the time. I'm sure Samantha is blissfully unaware. Glad you went with your instincts and switched doctors. You have to do what is best for you.
I hope you guys find a solution soon!!
So exciting about your shower! :)
Sometimes we just can't take NO for an answer. Good for you about speaking up and changing doctors! I can't tell you how many people I have pissed off since becoming a Mom becuase I spoke up for what was best for me, my baby & my family. It's all about them now! Who cares what other people say/think!
I too hope you are feeling better soon an these new meds work!
I hope you are feeling better soon! You are in the "easiest" part of pregnancy now.
Your baby will be fine and beautiful. The most important thing is that her mom is well, so you can carry her to term and nourish her!
Thinking of you!
I am so sorry you are not feeling better yet. This has to feel so surreal to you guys :( Hoping this weekend brings lots of fun and good stories to share during your shower. I looked at your ticker - holy crap only 88 more days! Squeeeeeel! hahaha. Hang in there chica.
I just heard about someone (who is not pregnant) that is having acid reflux induced asthma. She has been having asthma attacks that don't respond to even epi-pens but is seeing a lot of improvement with either prilosec or prevacid. Maybe you could talk to your doctor about an acid reducer (since I am taking 150 mg zantac and my doctor has no problems with it at almost 14 weeks). Hope you feel better soon!
Man...I can't believe you are still fighting this illness! What a pain in the butt! I know you want to enjoy your pregnancy and being sick is making that so difficult! Hopefully, you'll be able to kick it soon so you can enjoy your pregnancy!
I totally know what you are saying about the hospital bag...when I was in the hospital for a week I had to depend on Matt to bring me everything...luckily he did a good job, but he brought two conditioners and no shampoo...hahah! The hardest part about the hospital bag is what clothes to pack...I know I won't be back to my "regular" size clothes, but I don't want to pack maternity clothes because I wear them all now! So we'll see how I did!
Man... this is getting beyond ridiculous! In better news, not too much longer until Little Miss is here!!
man you can't catch a break with your health can you? I know you are worrying about Samantha but I truly believe she is going to be fine. I just hope YOU start to feel fine too :(
Three eyes and seven bellybuttons. I for one think you have very pretty eyes so I say the more the better. :) I am so sorry you still feel so bad. These meds may just be the miracle drug you need. I have a vision of you waking up on Saturday before the shower feeling good as new!
Is it weird that I am so so so excited for Sam to get here?? I cannot wait to get my hands on that little snuggly baby (not in a creepy way I promose). She is such a lucky girl.
Glad that you have a good attitude and something to look forward to this weekend with the baby shower. I hope you get lots of useful and cute things.
Rather sucks that you are still ill. Hopefully they will soon figure out the proper cocktail of meds to get you better.
Thinking of you!
Feel better soon! I am happy you are insisting on a different doctor if you aren't happy. This whole thing is stressful enough without a horrible doctor attending you.
I cannot wait to see shower pictures!
Enjoy your day, soon enough your beautiful baby will be here!
I'm just hoping you feel better soon! Jeesh. You need a break. :)
You are such a trooper through all this sickness madness. I hope you feel better just in time to enjoy yourself some cake and present opening. And don't let your doc office push you around. I hate when they try to pull that crap.
I hope you're feeling better, Sarah! Enjoy your shower this weekend.
