Spoke too soon

So, my favorite nurse from the OB's office called me this afternoon. Turns out my doctor is not comfortable with monitoring me this whole time and then not delivering the baby. So, we need to find another practice.

F****** great.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you can sort out the situation so that you're happy and comfortable with delivery. Hang in there.

What are your OB's thoughts on Samantha? Does she think she will require additional care? When do you have another scan to check on her growth. Ok way too many questions but thinking of you x

Oh that really stinks! I am so sorry! Maybe you can get a referral from a friend or someone for a new doctor.

Don't panic it can be done- I did it and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Just make sure to have all of your records/labs/etc. transferred over to the new Dr. Good luck sweetie you can do this!!

Can the doctor monitoring Samantha's growth refer you to another practice? That's the angle I would take. I know it can be hard getting in with OB practices but if a specialist refers you, it should be a snap. I would call the specialist right away for a referral.

What doctor KNOWS there's a possible health risk with a baby and says, "go to the non-NICU hospital or find a new physician?" If nothing else, she should be understanding and be referring you to someone who will deliver at the "safer" hospital.

This upsets me. She is only looking out for herself. Not good.

Really nice of them to tell you that now. Aren't they supposed to let you know something about delivering elsewhere might break their relationship with you in their paperwork when you went for the initial consult with them?
