Since, money is super tight, I ordered the cheapest one which is about $24.00 a month. The good thing though, is that it's a month to month rental and we are not in a contract or anything. So if we don't like it we can just send it right back!
Yes, I have thought about the chances that if I can't get it to work right and I start freaking out thinking there's no heartbeat! However, I'm hoping it will be smooth sailing and I'm able to figure it out okay! It's just so long between appointments that it will be nice to be able to hear LM's heartbeat whenever we want. I've been such a spaz lately about all the things that could go wrong, so to have this doppler it might help ease those worries.
It should be here next week! :)

We rented a doppler through babybeats and I loved it. It was around $50 and I think it was the one that showed the bpm. Anyway, I loved it. I don't think I got it to work until closer to 15 weeks, but it was a sanity saver quite a few times.
I never heard of renting one before...very cool! I can't tell you how many times I wished I had one when Abbey hadn't kicked in a while and my mind started going crazy
I loved my doppler. I would listen to the twins every night before I went to bed. It was fun to find who was where and to make sure they were ok every night. Made me sleep well. Enjoy!!!! You will love it. Well worth the purchase.
That sounds awesome! Can't wait to hear how it works out. And I totally hear ya about waiting in between appts.....it's like I'm going nuts if I haven't seen my baby on the screen for a few days.
Awesome idea! People who have struggled to MAKE it to this point deserve some peace of mind through the process....I think this is an excellent idea and I can't wait to hear how it goes and how excited you are! Sending more prayer and positive thoughts your way!
You can buy one on ebay for about 60 bucks and you can resell it when your done!! :)
Yay!! I bought one for $40 or so on ebay, brand new and it was a LIFESAVER for me. I listened EVERY day, sometimes a few times a day. Even when I was in my third tri, I had days where she didn't move as much, so I'd pull out my doppler:). It WAS hard at first - couldn't find the hb right away, but once I figured out where she was, we ALWAYS found her. In fact, the first time our OB used a doppler (we had weekly ultrasounds until then), my husband showed her where to find the baby, lol! He was very practiced and we knew exactly where she was in my belly. Enjoy that doppler, it will be amazing!
I LOVED my doppler!!! It went on trips with us, sat on my bedside table and got me through some pretty scary days. I would suggest them to anyone, especially the infertile crew. :)
I ordered mine WEEKs ago and I am still waiting impatiently for it to arrive!!! :S Grrr.....
